Hillbrook Inn: Everything You Need to Know

Hillbrook Inn, located in the beautiful town of Charles Town, West Virginia, is a charming and elegant retreat unlike any other lodging you’ve ever experienced. My recent stay at this peaceful bed and breakfast offered a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Lodging at Hillbrook Inn

Hillbrook Inn offers just 19 rooms, making each stay a special treat. The property is located on the first plot of land that George Washington ever purchased in 1750, making it a piece of historic interest for history buffs out there.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the inn’s stately presence. The property, surrounded by lush greenery, exudes a timeless appeal with its well-maintained gardens and historic architecture. The main building, a restored 18th-century estate, immediately transports guests to a bygone era while providing all the modern comforts one could desire. This all-season resort shines whether you’re enjoying the colorful leaves of the fall, the snowy backdrop of winter, or the freshly-flowering aroma of springtime.

The attention to detail in the decor is impeccable, with each room showcasing a unique blend of antique furnishings and contemporary amenities. The inn offers a variety of accommodations, from cozy rooms in the main house to private cottages scattered throughout the property.

During my stay, I opted for one of the private cottages, and I was delighted by the spacious and well-appointed interiors.

The spa’s tranquil setting and skilled therapists added to the overall sense of well-being that permeates the entire property.

Throughout my stay, the staff demonstrated a genuine commitment to hospitality. Whether I needed assistance with recommendations for local activities or simply wanted to unwind in the cozy common areas, the staff was attentive and accommodating.

The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the exceptional dining experience at Hillbrook Inn’s Redbook Restaurant. The culinary team, led by the talented Thomas O’Hara, skillfully combines locally sourced ingredients to create a menu that is both innovative and delicious. The intimate and romantic ambiance of the restaurant, coupled with impeccable service, made each meal a memorable occasion. The wine list is extensive, offering a carefully curated selection that complements the menu perfectly.
