Favorite Meal: Aucho Soup – casaba flour, banana flour… greatest dish in the entire world. Friend – Very hard – above my cooking level – 4 hrs to make that soup. Protein braise for four hours, miss one step has to stop over, builds on layers.

The path to being a great chef…
Chef Clem Tamasang’s grew up locally in Martinsburg, West Virginia, however his family roots are West African. He is a 2019 graduate from James Rumsey Technical Institute where he studied under Chef Lonnie Cobble. He did his practical internship with Chef Jeff Ault at the Bavarian Inn Resort and Brewing Company in Shepherdstown. His career then brought him to Final Cut at Hollywood Casino, Cress Creek Country Club, Branded Chop House and most recently the Goodstone Inn in Middleburg. When the opportunity came available he was thrilled to come back the Bavarian Inn as Executive Chef. Chef Clem says, “My passion for cooking motivates me to constantly sharpen my knowledge, precision and skills. I am striving to be a prestigious chef who is also an approachable yet strong leader.”
Chef describes his cooking style as heavily European influenced and from time to time likes to explore techniques from his West African heritage.

New beginnings close to home
Chef Clem has been at the Bavarian Inn since January 2025. He has taken on the challenge of mastering our traditional German and European entrees, making subtle improvements that stay true to tradition. He has also introduced several new menu items that have already been a hit! Early favorites include a Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, Lobster Ravioli, Pan Seared Salmon on Risotto and don’t miss out on the Truffle Fries!
