For over 40 years, the Asam family has been hosting friends and neighbors at their Bavarian Inn Resort & Brewing Co. Perched on a spectacular bluff overlooking the Potomac River, the 11-acre European inspired Boutique Resort offers comfort, elegance, and world-class food and service. Located in beautiful Shepherdstown, West Virginia, this historic inn has been undergoing a renaissance with several recent additions. Guests can now enjoy a scenic Infinity 101 Pool and Bar as well as the brand-new Bavarian Brothers Brewery featuring a brewpub, lounge, and outdoor beer garden.

Potomac Room

The Potomac Room is the Bavarian Inn Resort’s formal Fine Dining space located in the Greystone Manor. For over 40 years guests have enjoyed a “4 Diamond” dining experience while they take in stunning views of the Potomac River and beautiful grounds. An extensive menu of German and American fare lovingly prepared by master chefs, is the hallmark of the Bavarian Inn experience.

The dining room is also open daily for gourmet breakfasts. During the summer enjoy outside dining on the patio and terrace.

Bavarian Brothers Brewing

Recently the Asam’s expanded their European Boutique Resort to include the Bavarian Brothers Brewing. Sample seasonal beers made on-site matched with intelligent, yet comfortable cuisine and small bites by Executive Chef Jeffrey Ault. Relax and enjoy our brews in the Brew Pub, Brew Lounge or outdoor Beer Garden.

Our Brew Pub and Lounge were designed by highly acclaimed “Industrial Design” of Frederick, Maryland. The Brew Pub features a dining area with wooden tables and chairs that can be set up flexibly for individual dining tables or to mimic a German-style beer hall. Beautiful high A-frame type ceilings with exposed wooden beams, huge glass doors that access our new Garden Patio and views of the brewery and its stainless steel tanks make this an impressive space.

Rathskeller

The Bavarian Inn’s most popular dining area is the Rathskeller. It is open on a limited basis on Thurdays, Fridays and Saturdays starting at 5pm. Please remember that space is limited in this cozy dining area so reservations for dining are a must!
